Knowledge and Compassion: The Impact of Veganism

Veganism is simultaneously one of the most effective solutions for heart disease, several common forms of cancer (conclusively: breast, intestinal, lung, lymphoma, colon, ovarian, and prostate cancers), obesity, food-borne illness, world hunger, global climate change, and the unnecessary suffering and slaughter of 10-20 million non-human animals (in the US alone) per day.

That's why vegans make such a big stink about it. It's the single most effective thing I can think of doing to better the world, and it doesn't involve anyone else but my self, and my own willingness to affect personal change. "Empowering" is an understatement.
