That's why vegans make such a big stink about it. It's the single most effective thing I can think of doing to better the world, and it doesn't involve anyone else but my self, and my own willingness to affect personal change. "Empowering" is an understatement.

Knowledge and Compassion: The Impact of Veganism
Veganism
is simultaneously one of the most effective solutions for heart
disease, several common forms of cancer (conclusively: breast,
intestinal, lung, lymphoma, colon, ovarian, and prostate cancers),
obesity, food-borne illness, world hunger, global climate change, and
the unnecessary suffering and slaughter of 10-20 million non-human
animals (in the US alone) per day.
That's why vegans make such a big stink about it. It's the single most effective thing I can think of doing to better the world, and it doesn't involve anyone else but my self, and my own willingness to affect personal change. "Empowering" is an understatement.
